I can't import internal repo because detected as Invalid repo URL format

i hope project idx can detected url as valid url

IDX should be free
Project IDX is a very powerful software hosted on a cloud. And as a student I feel like these kinds of software should be free or at least should be partially free to users forever, just like Google Colab. The only thing which irritates me that not enough language supports are available currently. Makes those available, and this project becomes a great addition to Google dev community!

Would like Project IDX workspace to show edit history with character by character edits.
We will be using Project IDX to have students code websites. We used a previous website that we can no longer use. It was helpful to show the edit history so we could help students find their errors.
The character by character edit history was also helpful for us to detect plagiarism and see when they were just copying and pasting a peer's code which happened and we were able to address it before it continued on to other projects.

I suggest that Project IDX provides the IP addresses for its domain, so users can whitelist these in the variuos AWS, GCP, cloudSQL setups

Grant access to use authentication for login and registration
I created a login and registration system in Next JS using Next Auth using Google's 0auth, but when the feature is run it is always blocked by a proxy or firewall from the IDX project, even though when I run it on my local PC it is normal

Option to download files from the Dashboard, from Workspace option.
Right now I cannot to access my Workspace which contains many code files and I am locked out due to some error. we can avoid this by allowing users to download all of the contents that are in the workspace like how "Gitpod" handles, directly allowing them to download the files by adding additional "Download" option in the workspace option. even if there are now virtual machines are available users would be able to access their files.

Please Add Old Language Programming Like COBOL
Maybe this is not necessary or important to most peoples. But, it will be good if all programming language is applied to Project IDX, so people can choice what programming language they will use. For me, I need to use COBOL because of my work. It will helpful if developer can reach this request.

status indicator for network / server / vm / status.idx.dev in workspace,
Somewhere in the bottom of the workspace window, it would be cool to have the option to see the status of the connection, like network quality, and maybe even VM load, etc,
Sometimes, interaction gets slow, like syntax highlighting and the response from Gemini, etc. It makes me wonder if it's my connection or the server/vm I'm on.
Having something as simple as colored bars showing network and server health would be helpful.1 vote -

You can never imagine what a revolutionalizing project you have created. You just made my whole life releasing this advanced tool enabling me to create in the environments and frameworks I could never have been able to use due to my low system resources but now I just need the broser chrome and I have everything to develop and work upon.

Offline availability
Thousands of developers, some of the very best developers are amongst them, do not have constant internet or frequent internet disruptions, it would be wise if a local VM or local installation could be available to assist them to also use IDX.

Windows App maker
Make an integrated compiler to .exe file type with .py and others files to be able to create Windows apps with Project IDX. And create an emulator for desktop (Windows favourite) because I always use Project IDX when it come in Beta Public and it's annoying to download the file, test it on my computer, make changes on IDX, redownload the new file. Authorize GitHub for VS Code only on a specific repository and not all
I tryed to have my project on Github using the Soure Control (⌃⌘G) of IDX.
It looks easy and friendly but when it comes to authorizing VSC it doesn't let me select a specific repository instead it wants access all the organizations almost with full rights.
Would it be possible to select a specific repository to give authorization to?
Steps being in a workspace:
1. Source Control (⌃⌘G)
2. Initialize Repository
3. Commit
4. Publish Branch
5. The extension 'GitHub' wants to sign in using GitHub. (Allow)
6. Continue...The repository is within an organization that I own.

Use Cachix
I'm trying to use devenv.sh in IDX and it works. But without cachix the initialization takes forever and I can't enable Cachix, because I would need to set
trusted-users = root user
in the nix.conf, which is not possible.1 vote
