Add bitbucket support
Add support for bitbucket.
This is fairly similar to add gitlab support:
https://idx.uservoice.com/forums/953956-general/suggestions/46962415-add-gitlab-supportCovering both gitlab & bitbucket covers the top 3 git hosting sites.

Hide to Show
After adding an extension, GitLens, it was in the sidebar, I chose the option to Hide, but there's no apparent way to retrieve. I checked everything, even uninstalled and reinstalled, and nothing. The Hide function, for me at least, rather than hides the extension, but makes it disappear from the sidebar. Though, it still functions, I thought the option to Show would be available, even after Undo, nothing happened.

By default, only one project can be created. not enough for learning and testing.
I created a react project for testing. When I want to create the second project, "IDX currently has a per-user workspace limit. Please delete one or more workspaces before continuing, or reach out to the IDX team for assistance to have limits manually increased." The message came and was not created.
1. More than one project should be created, the old one should not be deleted for a new attempt.
2. It is unclear how to reach the IDX team.2 votes -
By-pass Firebase App Check
Running websites on Project IDX against a Firebase backend is super easy.
However, if AppCheck is enabled on the Firebase project it blocks traffic from the Project IDX hosting, essentially making it impossible to conduct any manual user testing.
Ideally Project IDX hosting should be while-listed in some fashion to allow to connect to Firebase resources protected by AppCheck.

Enable Importing from custom Gitlab instances (i.e. not gitlab.com/)
At work we use a custom Gitlab instance (gitlab.ocado.tech) but currently I can't import projects from this instance. Is this something that would be looked at, or how would that work?

python
We want to create a Python-based working environment on a virtual machine (VM) that allows for seamless code execution, disk space management, and sharing capabilities with team members. This setup should support dynamic scaling of RAM and GPU resources as needed, with a "pay-as-you-go" billing model for resource consumption. The environment should also enable us to leave our developed code in a standalone, executable state, so it can be run independently by others.
To support isolated package management, we’ll install necessary Python libraries (e.g., pip, venv, numpy, pandas, etc.) and configure the workspace as a virtual environment using venv or…

IDX should be free
Project IDX is a very powerful software hosted on a cloud. And as a student I feel like these kinds of software should be free or at least should be partially free to users forever, just like Google Colab. The only thing which irritates me that not enough language supports are available currently. Makes those available, and this project becomes a great addition to Google dev community!

I Wish I Could Configure Cron Jobs in My Workspace
I need to schedule tasks such as backing up my project to various locations. However, I've encountered issues installing and starting a cron service. It requires systemd to run and permissions to access certain folders, but unfortunately, idx doesn't allow these actions.

fedramp / self hosted support
Would love to be able to introduce this to my work, but we have very strict security requirements.
Would be awesome to be able to spin up IDX on our own environment so we could use it!

Workspace Limitation
Dear Admin,
I already try Project IDX and I feel like this feature is very useful. But, I feel that the workspace limitation is measly. I hope you can increase the limitation from 2 to 5 maybe. It will helpful that you will consider my feedback.
Thank you.

would be nice if this thing tells what type of suspicious activity was detected and have actual options to fix it. or maybe even warnings so that people don't work too ******* something just for google to restrict access out of nowhere.

Preserve the idx IDE configuration
Make a feature or improvement where we can preserve the IDE configurations like themes and other configurations.
Once we log out from the IDE after 1 or 2 days, the theme resets, all the default configurations are reverted, and all the extensions are removed.11 votes
