  1. Automatic intelligent code checking. On the example of Quokka (plugin for VSCode) only that it would be interactive and automatically prompt you. For example, if you have an error in some place, it will highlight it and can solve it yourself or will describe why it happens.

  2. Adding support for jupyter notebooks and access to GPUs will enable deep learning and AI related developments much more easier in project idx. While Google colab and kaggle provides this, they lack a good IDE and other features. Also you can look lightning.ai studios for inspiration.

  3. This concept outlines integrating Gemini AI and an image generation model within Project IDX to streamline website development.

    Technical Approach:

    1. Project Setup:

      • Utilize Project IDX and choose a suitable template (e.g., Gemini API with JavaScript/Vite or Python).
      • Integrate the desired image generation model's API (e.g., using libraries like Diffusion Bee for DreamStudio access).
    2. Gemini AI for Content Creation:

      • Leverage Gemini's API to generate text content for various website sections:
        • Use clear prompts for specific functionalities (e.g., "Write compelling product descriptions for our e-commerce store").
        • Employ Gemini's ability to adapt content based on user input or website theme for a dynamic…

  4. In Interactive Chat mode, it would be great if Gemini could review the entire project upon our first entry and provide some suggestions. For example, it could point out issues like 'The APIKEY section in your project is empty; you should fill it in,' or suggest improvements such as 'Adding this here would make it better.' Additionally, I think there should be a standalone application for this feature, not just web-based access.

  5. So I did give a testflight to Project IDX and I found out that it quite fails when using react starter with typescript.

I started converting counter to todo app and it gave answers in typescript but it should've noticed the file being .tsx so it should give suggestions in typescript over javascript.

    1. Ability to upload an image in the Gemini chat. I should be able to screenshot a figma design and have Gemini implement it as best as it can.
    2. Ability to reference local code. Similar to Cursor IDE, I should be able to tell Gemini: "Look at this @file as a reference", or: "Only use the components under @example/components"
    3. Ability to customize a default prompt. If I always use certain conventions I don't want to repeat them over and over. I should be able to write them once under .idx/prompt.txt and have Gemini use them for context.

  8. After I have a good chat session about my project, I might want to share my Gemini transcript with a coworker, i.e. like with https://g.co/gemini/share/abc123 from the Gemini Android app.

Right now, the workaround is to copy-paste (but the formatting is awful) or take a screenshot.

  9. Dear Google Developers Team,

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work you've done on Project IDX. Your dedication to innovation and excellence is truly impressive.

I also wanted to bring to your attention the availability of the domain name (iDXcopilot.com) I strongly believe that acquiring this domain would be a valuable asset for your project. It's a perfect match for your brand and would provide a clear and concise way for users to access your platform.

I urge you to expedite the process of purchasing this domain before someone else does. Owning IDXcopilot.com would:

    • Enhance brand…

  10. Add the "feature" to remove AI assistance for those of us who write code ourselves. The resources AI consumes would be better freed up or allocated elsewhere.

  11. Instead of showing proposed changes in the chat, show it right in the file, that's much more intuitive. Also completing all steps and asking me to "Accept All" or "Reject All" after is more intuitive than accepting 1 step at a time.

  12. What If AI could fix your bugs? Or if you imported a program and it didn't match up with the proper file placement, your AI could figure out where each file should go, and move them as such. Or if you made a typo, AI could figure out how to fix it.

  14. When I asked to add as a start of Gemini answers (in a conversation) the current timestamp.
I was surprised that the answer was "I take as reference the timestamp of the server where I am running and for me UTC is 202310-27 (while we are in France for Paris today 202401-07)

  15. I am having difficulty to run the GIT Gemini 2.0 Cookbook projects in IDX. Too time consuming. Also Gemini code assistant gave up trying to resolve the NIX environment issues. Also can not get the following project to run:

    https://github.com/google-gemini/multimodal-live-api-web-console

It should not be so complex to accomplish running Google Git repositories in the Google environment. I have a million use cases for Gemini 2.0 Flash and need to move faster. Thank you for your time.
