Enable to "Change Display Language" to Japanese, that MS VS Code could easily do it .
I know MS VS Code has the Japanese locale extension, however it's mandatory for the people not familiar with all English editors, also not familiar with the families of VS Code, OSS Dev, etc.
I'm both of them. Only such factor can make the people avoid the IDE of Project IDX.
Critical: Why IDX, Code OSS, cannot change Display Japanese Display For me, I'm not familiar with MS VS CODE the families Enable to Change "Display Language", Japanese for me, that VS CODE can realize very easily

How to access Android emulator?
Hi,
Currently, there is no way to access the Android emulator in IDX. I tried using the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+P, but there is still no option to view the Android emulator preview.
Not only the Android emulator preview, but I am also unable to access the Web preview. When clicking on 'Show Web preview', I get this error message: "Command 'Project IDX: Show Web Preview' resulted in an error: command 'monospace.showWebPreview' not found."
Please help.

Better google drive intergration
In VS cell and other DEV environments i continually run into issues connecting to google drive AI and waste time in authorcatfication loops. So you have the chance to have better or even automatic integration with Google Drive, which would save so much time and make it easier to move data between different projects.

UI/UX design tool
It would be great if there was a design tool similar to Figma so that we could convert our design into code and integrate it with the help of Gemini.

Restart of all project workflows
I accidentally selected the wrong project from the Google Map Integration flow, and now it is stuck there.
Removing the Google account did not help, it just recreated the same on the next run. Please add an option to any workflow to start from scratch.
Thanks.

Laggy and Less Touch Responsive Online Android Emulator
The current online Android emulator is experiencing significant lag and lacks touch responsiveness, impacting the user experience negatively. This hinders developers' ability to efficiently test and debug their Android applications in a simulated environment.

I want to also have a dark mode / Jelly fish like theme, so that the code looks colorful and appealing . It increases and motivates me throughout development process for some reason!

support renaming workspaces
When I started my workspace I had only thought of one use case but then the scope evolved and my original workspace name no longer reflects what my workspace does. I tried "Save workspace as..." but it didn't change the folder name and it didn't permanently change the workspace name the next time I loaded the workspace.

Desktop App
IDX Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux), either:
- Electron / Tauri wrapper
- Or React Native desktop app
For better avoidance of browser keyboard shortcuts / better native + OS integration
I'm a big supporter of web standards, but running an editor in a browser tab or even as a desktop PWA is often lacking / janky (judging based on the VS Code editor on github.dev)
Alternative Considered: PWA
If you manage to achieve parity by fixing the UX problems and integrating natively, making it work without downsides, I'll be on board with running IDX as a PWA!

Replit style upm package management
inspired by https://github.com/replit/upm perhaps using https://github.com/astral-sh/uv as backend, to help make it much easier + faster to install packages for the user. The replit package installation experience is very smooth - perhaps in the future, this could be combined with poetry or rye (by astral-sh as well) to manage all python projects

Separate idx/dev.nix into a flake.nix and a simpler idx config file.
For experienced nix users, the
channel
andpackages
parameters overlap with flakes enough that there's no need to wrap them up in a bespoke DSL. If a project already has a flake.nix that includes a devShell, it's not clear how this should be wired up.For inexperienced nix users, being forced to learn Nix to edit the idx-specific entry seems unnecessary.
