CORS Error with GoogleIDX in Express.js Project
'm encountering a CORS error when using GoogleIDX in my Express.js project. My application can't access https://workstations.cloud.google.com/devshell/gateway/oauth due to CORS restrictions.
Enabling CORS on the server is preferred over a proxy server. I'm using express and cors with the following code (example provided if needed).
I've also tried adding the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header but without success.
Could you investigate and suggest solutions?
Thanks,
Kartik KumarAdditional Information (Optional):
Error Message: GET https://workstations.cloud.google.com/devshell/gateway/oauth?... 403 (Forbidden)
Using latest express and cors versions.

Build Firebase Functions in IDX
It would be nice to see an easy way to build/deploy Firebase Functions in IDX. The work you've done for firebase hosting is fantastic. It would be nice to be able to create and deploy functions the same way.

...can have direct URL's that don't have a location redirect
Currently we can have URLs that forward to localhost. But these use a redirect (30x). Some environments don't accept a location redirect. For example, we are developing Google Workspace Add-ons and it would be a great usecase for it, but we need a tool like ngrok to connect add-ons to our endpoints, since they need a 200 response.

Sample nix environment templates
Nix is new to lots of folks - and it's a bit hard to know where to start.
Include some sample templates, or a master template with a bunch of packages (commented out) that the user can start with.

Feature Request: iOS Simulator Support in Project IDX for Flutter
Project IDX has great potential, but expanding its iOS Simulator and Deployment to App Store capabilities would make it even more powerful. Here's what I propose:
iOS Simulator Integration - the capability to test and debug directly in Project IDX, without having to go into any macOS device;
App Store Deployment - deploying iOS applications directly in the App Store;
iOS Full Development Toolset: advanced debugging, performance profiling, and resource management.
This will not only smooth the workflow but also make ProjectIDX full-fledged for the all flutter developer. Let's unlock its full potential!

Have backend port forwarding work with any protocol.
I've been trying to connect to the postgres server running in IDX using the public "backend ports" feature, and I cannot figure out why it's not working.
So I'm guessing that these only work for HTTP. I'd like to be able to publicly connect to any forwarded ports regardless of what protocol they're using.

Implementation of a Default Workshop Configuration Feature
Introduction
In the current software development landscape, efficiency and productivity are critical success factors for projects. Google’s IDX Project already offers a robust infrastructure; however, introducing a new feature that enables the configuration of a "default workshop" could revolutionize how developers interact with the platform. This proposal aims to simplify and optimize the process of creating and importing projects, ensuring that relevant extensions and themes are automatically applied.Proposal
The proposal consists of allowing users to configure a default workshop that includes a predefined selection of extensions and themes. When creating or importing new projects, this configuration will be automatically…2 votes -
